Seniors' Days
The fourth Tuesday of every month is seniors' day at Wascoe.
These seniors' days are special operating days on which senior (often retired) members gather to carry out essential maintenance at the park, test new or modified locos and rolling stock, have a cuppa and a yarn, and generally have a relaxing day.
Gathering time is between 9:00am and 9:30am, and there are usually six or eight members present. We don't work too hard, but try to get any essential jobs done, and discuss how we can improve operations at Wascoe. We usually bring morning tea and lunch, and finish up at about 3:00pm.
There is no obligation to attend seniors' days, but those who attend do so because they enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and they get a sense of achievement from the work they perform for the Society.
