Work starts on track to Signal Box
In May 2010, Railcorp started work earlier than their proposed date and
have got stuck into the Coal Siding, clearing away
the sleepers (see photo) and digging out the track
bed. By early June the track had been laid, and awaits ballast. Valley Heights Steam Tramway members still have to complete laying the points.
The track to the signal box is something we have looked forward to for years and now looks like coming to fruition within a couple of months. Before any new track can be accessed, an operational risk assessment and management plan will have to be formulated and approved.
